Kamal Jackson Jr.

Age 18

Saint Louis, Missouri

Name shared with father. Goodbye Jr.

His fifth-grade science fair project won a blue ribbon. “The Effect of Soda.” Years later, he was pictured with the same closed-lipped grin, smoking a blunt.

His friends called him “LB Slime.” He called himself that, too. He was also the “junior” to his father’s “senior.”

Kamal Jackson Jr., 18, was walking down Lilac Avenue in St. Louis County, Missouri, on Oct. 28, 2018 when he was shot by someone in a passing car. Police arrived to find him in critical condition. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. “(He) always watched over me,” his father recalled in a Facebook post.
