Small town mourns loss of fifth-grader

She was with her twin brother in the family’s truck while her parents shopped at the Dollar General store.

They were both fifth-graders at South Lawrence Elementary School, in a small southern Tennessee community.

On Oct. 21, Kaleigh Shae Pennington, 10, was accidentally shot in the head by her twin brother in Saint Joseph, Tennessee, after he found a handgun beneath the seat of their truck. She came from a generous family. The family asked that any memorials be sent to the International Dyslexia Association.
