She had the brightest smile. Her jet-black hair was swept back with a red bandana. “If you truly love someone … the only thing you want for them is to be happy,” she wrote. “If someone truly loves you they will never let you go no matter how hard the situation is. (J)ust have hope, faith and joy.”
She was playing cards at home with her brothers when a guest pulled out a gun.
Kaia Denise Marioneaux, 17, was shot in the head on Feb. 28, 2018, in Rankin County, Mississippi. Her older brother, Nye’Cole, also died. Her twin survived.
