His caramel eyes were his striking features. His contagious smile and laugh warmed everything and everyone around him.
To his teachers at Southport High School, he was a good student and athlete. To his family, he was a protective brother to his three siblings.
On the evening of Oct. 8, 2018, a medic found him and rushed him to St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital in Indianapolis. Juwan-Howard Smith, 16, was shot in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 900 block of Lake Nora Court South. Fall break had just begun. He would never make it back to school.
