Justin Johnson

Age 18

Poughkeepsie, New York

He was on a late-night walk

Before moving to Poughkeepsie, New York, he lived in Queens. The 18-year-old loved basketball and music.

He was walking down Main Street in Poughkeepsie with two men when one pulled out a gun.

Justin Johnson, 18, was found by police with a gunshot wound to his head. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. Johnson was the seventh shooting victim in the city in less than a month. A comment on a memorial site for him read simply:  “Rest easy Justin. You are in my heart always."
