Joseph Davis

Age 17

Middletown, Ohio

A quiet student who always smiled

The 17-year-old Detroit native had recently moved to Middletown, Ohio, for a fresh start. He was mostly a quiet student at Marshall High School who was always smiling, loved to draw and boxed at a local gym. He was one of nine children and he actively refused to partake in gang activity.

He spent May 29, 2018, enjoying an unusually hot spring day in a water balloon fight with friends. His last moments were spent riding his bike.

Joseph Davis was shot and killed at the intersection of Garfield Street and Woodlawn Ave because of a gang turf dispute.
