Split by rival gangs and notorious for violence and revenge, that part of Chicago was where he and his friend crossed over the boundary into the McKinley Park neighborhood. Police said they were in a stolen car.
On March 2, 2018, Jose Aguilar was shot in the abdomen at 10:47 a.m. He was rushed to the hospital by private ambulance and died a short time later, at 12:02 p.m.
