Heaven couldn’t wait for his smile

He always wore the same pair of earrings, big, round gold studs that accentuated the flecks of light in his dark eyes. In every photo, his mouth was frozen open in a half-smile, energy radiating like he was on the verge of speech or laughter.

He was beloved by all — a caring son, brother, uncle, grandson, cousin, and friend.

Jordan Rattana Houn, 16, was found dead lying on top of a gun in Stockton, California, on October 13, 2018. Heaven just “couldn’t wait” for him, his sister would later say.
