A teen lost on Halloween weekend

He had no parents to call his own. A dead mother. A lost father. He moved from house to house, spreading good and emanating respect wherever he went. He lived in the Little Village neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. Where Mexico meets the Midwest.

It was Halloween weekend, a time when parties and costumes fill young people's minds.

John Pena-Alvarez, 16, was shot twice on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018, at 2:15 a.m. He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he later died.
