Jermon Latrell Perry

Age 7

Saint Louis, Missouri

A search for candy gone wrong

He was one of three children, a twin. He played video games. Nicknamed “Mon Mon,” his smile lit up a room.

His mother hid Easter candy from him and his brothers so they wouldn’t eat it all at once. His youngest brother was searching for the candy when he found his father’s gun in a dresser drawer. A family friend says that the boy probably didn’t know the difference between a toy gun and a real one.

Jermon Latrell Perry, 7, attended Barretts Elementary School in Manchester, Missouri. His 5-year-old brother accidentally shot him in the head at their home on March 31, 2018.
