Saving for college, a would-be teacher

The third-grader at Buckshutem Road School wanted to be a teacher when she grew up. She had a piggy bank right by her bed with $60 in it  that she was planning to save for college.

But early one day, shots were fired near her house. One went through a rear bedroom wall.

Leaving behind a brother and a sister, Jennifer Trejo-Gomez, 9, died of a gunshot wound after being struck by a bullet in her Church Street home in Bridgeton, New Jersey, on July 17, 2018. Her teacher created a GoFundMe page to raise funds for her funeral.
