Jayzon Blackwell

Age 11

Marion, Indiana

His fifth-grade desk, now a memorial

They called him a “ball of energy.” He was often skipping in the hallways at his school and loved to draw, especially characters from his favorite video game, Fortnite.

After it happened, they kept his desk where it was in his fifth-grade classroom, with paper cards made by his classmates sitting on top.

Jayzon Blackwell, 11, was shot and killed on Dec. 30, 2018, in Marion, Indiana, alongside his father and brother Javon, 12. Police said “suspected narcotics” were found at their house. Both brothers wore baseball caps in their caskets.
