Javon Blackwell Jr.

Age 12

Marion, Indiana

What she misses is him, dancing

In a video his mother posted, he’s dancing with his brother. She said it’s what she misses the most.

At school, while his teacher worked on one side of her desk, he’d do his homework on the other. He was “the ultimate big brother,” quiet and sincere. Just 12 years old, “(h)e had a lot more to give,” a teacher said.

Javon Blackwell Jr., was shot and killed on Dec. 30, 2018, in Marion, Indiana, with his father and brother, Jayzon, 11. Police found “suspected narcotics” at their house. Classmates raised $1,300 for the brothers’ funeral.
