Jaiden Garcia

Age 18

Las Vegas, Nevada

Betrayed by search for new friends

His eyes are calm but piercing in the photo friends chose to remember him.

As his time at C.O. Bastian High School was coming to a close, he was starting a new chapter in his life. Hoping to meet a new acquaintance, he drove with two men to a trailer park near Lake Mead Boulevard. The last words he heard were “Where are you from?”

Just before 11 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, 2018, Jaiden Garcia, 18, was shot in the chest in Las Vegas, Nevada. He died later that night from his wounds.
