Jaheim Wilson

Age 16

Chicago, Illinois

Shot eight years after mother died

His favorite things to eat were peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and his favorite basketball player was LeBron James. The youngest of six siblings, he was raised by his grandmother and her husband. They’d been living together for the past eight years, ever since the boy’s mother died.

He was less than half a mile from his home in the Chicago neighborhood of Austin when a loud bang emerged from an alley.

Jaheim Wilson, 16, was fatally shot at 5:05 p.m. on April 7, 2018.
