A few years earlier, his father committed suicide. But he was “ready to take on the world headfirst,” according to his uncle.
He was visiting two friends — brothers. They were playing in the house without parents home. The younger brother took a gun from his parents’ room and pointed it at him.
Jadon Lane Vaughn, 14, was shot and killed in unincorporated Columbia County, Florida, on Dec. 26, 2018. Carter Palm, 11, has been charged with manslaughter; investigators say he and his older brother planted a knife after the shooting, claiming Jadon was trying to attack them.
