Born in Nashville, his mother is the late Shontelle Ray Furlow.

He is survived by his father, two brothers, half sister and grandparents.

The incident occurred in Centerville, a town in Hickman County, Tennessee.

Deputies of the Hickman County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to investigate an apparent suicide, when they were redirected to a local hospital in response to another gunshot victim.

Jacob Clay Furlow, 17, was shot at his Centerville residence on Oct. 19, 2018. He died soon after at St. Thomas Hickman Hospital. Two juveniles were charged with his death.
