JaBria A. Tell

Age 14

Meridian, Mississippi

A baby sister, a beautiful soul

A neighbor remembers her as  “a very beautiful, bright person.” The compliments she offered brightened the days of those who lived around the half-yellow, half-brick apartment building her family occupied.

Only a year apart, she and her brother were fairly close. They once wore matching pink sweatshirts as they held a puppy and smiled warmly in a picture on her brother’s Facebook page. Their friends, family, and even classmates recall the genuine love they had for each other.

On March 31, 2018, 14-year-old JaBria Tell died of gunshot wounds accidentally inflicted by her older brother in their mother’s Meridian, Mississippi, home.
