He was bright, with “a lot of best friends” at school, where his favorite subject was math. Early on, he learned to go in his room and play when his mother and her boyfriend fought.
In 2012, his mother’s boyfriend was arrested on an aggravated battery charge against his mother. In 2015, the boyfriend jumped off a second-story balcony. In 2017, his mother attempted to seek a restraining order against the boyfriend.
On June 11, 2018, the boyfriend shot and killed Irayan Devin Pluth, 12, in their apartment in Orlando, Florida. His sister, half-brother and half-sister also were shot and killed after a 21-hour standoff with police.
