Age 16

Normandy, Missouri

Tell me why, said his mother

He stayed out of trouble. His mother said that he had a good heart, that he was the type of person who “would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.”

When it happened, his 10-year-old sister was there. So was his 18-year-old friend, whom he thought of as a brother. They argued; his sister started running.

Gerrian Jerrod Green Jr., 16, was shot multiple times on Nov. 24, 2018, near an elementary school in Normandy, Missouri. Afterward, his mother pleaded for his friend to come forward. “Look into my eyes and tell me why,” she said.
