Ervey Enriquez

Age 17

Colorado Springs, Colorado

Pulsating music punctured by gun shots

He’d grown up influenced by both his Hispanic heritage and his American hometown of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He enjoyed baseball, but was also known among loved ones for singing and playing songs in Spanish with his three brothers.

He frequented the Club La Casota, known for its live Spanish music performances and lively dancing well into the late hours of the night.

It was just outside of the club at 1:20 a.m. on Jan. 12, 2019, that pulsing music was punctuated by gunshots. Ervey Enriquez, 17, was fatally shot and killed.
