Eliza Kristine Orellana

Age 8

Gerrardstown, West Virginia

She was a singer, dancer and friend

She loved her pet hamster and her big sister, Olivia. She was a singer, a dancer and a friend to a “seemingly endless” number of people.

“She was a happy, happy girl,” a family friend said. “She was everything adults strive to be.” She and her sister had just arrived home after elementary school on a Thursday afternoon when her mother called them upstairs.

On Sept. 20, 2018, Eliza Kristine Orellana, 8, and her sister were shot by their mother in their home in Gerrardstown, West Virginia. Her sister escaped, but Eliza died at the scene.
