Eddie L. Daniels III

Age 17

Spokane, Washington

He told them to laugh, smile

Vibrant colors filled posters with messages to him. “Fly high,” read one in blue and purple.

He had discussed his dying wish before with his friend, Elijah, through text. He wrote that he would want people to “have a good time and celebrate. Laugh and smile. I want y’all to be happy bc i hate when people are sad.”

So that’s what his friends and family did in a benefit concert to honor his request. Eddie L. Daniels III, 15, who attended Lewis and Clark High School, was shot in downtown Spokane, Washington on Oct. 17, 2018.
