Demetrius Jefferson

Age 4

Richmond, Virginia

A small superhero, loving and affectionate

He was a superfan of superheroes; he loved The Avengers, especially Iron Man.

Known for being affectionate, he freely offered hugs and kisses. He always said “smooches” and “I love you” to family members and close friends.

On May 7, 2018, Demetrius “Meecho” Jefferson, 4, accidentally shot himself in the head at his family’s apartment in Richmond, Virginia, while his mother slept in the other room. At his vigil, family members laid out an Avengers blanket, attendees dressed like Marvel characters, and all remembered Demetrius as a superhero.
