De’Lindsey Dwayne Mack

Age 18

Houston, Texas

Never got to enjoy his meal

Normally, he left school after freshman lunch at Lamar High School in Houston, Texas. On that day, a family friend was waiting to pick him up from school to take the teen to his father’s shop.

“He was just a soft kid,” his pastor at Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church would later say.

On Nov. 13, 2018, De’Lindsey Dwayne Mack called his mom and asked her to prepare something special for him to eat when he got home. The 18-year-old was walking with a friend near the school when he was attacked by a masked gunman. He was shot and killed. He never got to enjoy his meal.
