Never got to make travel plans
The small Mississippi town where he lived was not enough for him. Ever ambitious, he made sure he was always “chasing a bag.” He dreamed of traveling to faraway places with the woman he loved the most.
His girlfriend, Lakyia Carney, was a source of support for him at times when he felt as if he had no one to fall back on. They were deeply in love, and he hoped to one day have a son with her.
On August 3 2018, Delametric Djaun Fairley’s plans were interrupted by a fatal gunshot at a back-to-school event in Collins, Mississippi.
