Daquon Tyus Munson

Age 17

Tyler, Texas

A rising senior, a would-be firefighter

He enjoyed playing basketball, riding his bike and talking to his friends, said his mother Ladidre Belvins. He was heading into his final year at Robert E. Lee High School.

Known as “Dada,” he wanted to be a firefighter. His dad shared his feelings about him online: “I LOVE YOU AND MISS U, U WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.”

On July 23, 2018, Daquon Tyus Munson, 17, was shot at least twice in his home in Tyler, Texas. His mother’s ex-boyfriend allegedly fatally shot Daquon and his mom’s new boyfriend. His mother survived a gunshot to the head.
