Dalton James Prater

Age 18

Mesquite, Texas

A recent grad and Rangers fan

Coming from a family of dedicated Texas Rangers fans, he loved going to baseball games with his parents. As a family, they proudly donned their team colors and diligently watched the games, celebrating victories and mourning losses.

He had recently graduated from high school, and his mother, Pam, posted online about how quickly her children’s lives were going by, not knowing what was to come.

On the afternoon of June 12, 2018, Dalton James Prater, 18, was killed by multiple gunshots as he was sitting in the driver’s seat of his pickup truck in Mesquite, Texas.
