One week, four family members buried

The boy cared about everyone but himself, wrote his cousin. He would help clean, watch over the younger kids in his family, and make morning calls to his aunt.

Many of his friends were practically family, and he was quick to defend them. They remember him as funny and always up for a good time.

Dabryant Lamont “Gugu” Walker, 17, was fatally shot in the Ford Heights neighborhood of Chicago on June 10, 2018. He was one of four people his family buried that week. Five months later, they celebrated his 18th birthday without him.
