Courtland Trowell-Wilmore

Age 17

Royse City, Texas

A devoted friend, till the end

He was wearing a “bulldogs” visor on top of his black curly hair as he squinted for a picture taken on a boat. He was dressed in a red and white plaid button-up shirt.

A junior at Royse City High School, he spent a lot of time with his best friend Nick Young. They were some of the closest friends that sophomore Cole Bynog had ever seen, Bynog told a local news station.

Shortly after 3 a.m on Feb. 3, 2019, Courtland Trowell-Wilmore, 17, was fatally shot on Overstreet Lane in Royse City, Texas. Trowell-Wilmore was killed alongside Young in their own neighborhood.
