Calvin Bernard Harvey

Age 16

Macon, Georgia

One grandmother and two grandsons lost

Summer had just begun. He was a rising junior at Northeast High School. He was loved by his 63-year-old grandmother, who had raised him along with 18 other grandchildren. His friends affectionately called him “Chop.”

One summer evening, he was at a cookout not far from downtown Macon, Georgia,  when shots were fired from a passing car.

Calvin Bernard Harvey, 16, was shot in the head and killed on June 17, 2018, and  pronounced dead at the scene. It was the second time: Eleven months earlier, Calvin’s first cousin also was shot and killed. Calvin’s grandmother had buried him, too.
