Brennen Michael Esau

Age 5

Little Rock, Arkansas

He was only five years old

He bares two rows of tiny teeth at the camera as his mother kisses him on the cheek. Only 5, he had a lifetime ahead of him to play basketball.

At Esteem Village Elementary in Little Rock, Arkansas, “his smile gave light in the halls and his great hugs would make all sadness fall.” “Bear,” as he was affectionately coined, talked to everybody and loved to make people laugh.

Around 8 p.m. on Sept. 22, 2018, Brennen Michael Esau was wandering through his house when he came across a gun and shot himself. His mother was not home at the time.
