Anthony Michael Gutierrez

Age 17

Bakersfield, California

He was not the intended target

He grew up in a household that prayed no matter what the circumstance; maybe this is what made him such a comfort to his many friends.

One day while he was hanging out with others in the garage, a man in a truck approached asking for someone. After being told that person wasn’t there, the man drove away.

Minutes later, a man jumping out of the same truck approached and opened fire on the group, hitting him in the chest. His mother kneeled above him wailing frantically while he gasped for air. Anthony Michael Gutierrez, 17, died on April 7, 2018 in Bakersfield, California.
