Didn’t get to celebrate first paycheck

He was like an older brother to many of his friends. When someone was picking on them, he was the first to speak up and the first one to offer comfort.

While helping other people, he was starting to get his life back on track, said Abel Torres, one of his friends. “He was getting a job. He didn't even get to celebrate his first paycheck.”

Marquez Grajeda, 15, was shot and killed on Feb. 5, 2019 in Salt Lake City while visiting friends on his school lunch break.
