Louisa Angela Aguilar Olivas

Age 15

Littleton, Colorado

Good morning. Goodbye. Sunrise, then gone.

Six-thirty in the morning is when students wake up to get ready for school. Time to brush teeth and comb hair, time for “good luck” waffles before that math test.

On lazy summer mornings, 6:30 a.m. is when you hit the snooze button, time to snuggle  up under the blankets for just a few more minutes. For Coloradans, it’s the perfect time to breathe in the cool mountain air.

Six-thirty on Tuesday morning, July 17, 2018 was when she was shot. Luisa Angela Aguilar Olivas, 15, was rushed to the hospital in Littleton, Colorado. Forty-eight hours later, she died.
