Lance C. Willis

Age 16

Dolton, Illinois

Gone before his daughter was born

A sophomore at the Academy for Learning, he always played video games or spearheaded neighborhood football games. He had big dreams to become a professional football player.

He came from a big family, and he enjoyed spending time with his siblings and roughhousing with younger relatives. He loved going to church because he could spend time with his mother, blasting gospel music and talking on the way. He was expecting a child.

On February 7, 2019, Lance C. Willis, 16, was shot in the abdomen near his school in Dolton, Illinois. He was pronounced dead at Christ Medical Center two hours later.
