Angelique Niccole Ramirez

Age 15

Santa Fe, Texas

Shining through the light of rainbows

Rainbow was her favorite color. Bright, happy and unapologetically itself, the patchwork of colors mirrored her in many ways — she too was filled with unique vivacity.

“She was so full of life. I couldn’t even begin to tell you. Bursting at the seams with rays of pure light,” a close family friend would later say.

Angelique Niccole Ramirez, 15, was shot and killed in a mass shooting at Santa Fe High School in Santa Fe, Texas, on May 18, 2018. Her family and friends gathered dressed in red and black to match her fiery hair and felt her presence glowing through the two rainbows they spotted in the sky.
